Who to Call When Admitting an Adult Patient with a Traumatic Hip Fracture

CHRIST
ED Care (Routine ED Care as per ED team discretion, PLUS)
1. Initiate ED Traumatic Hip Fracture Care Powerplan (include required labs, Xrays, consult/admit orders)
2. Admission (for ALL patients)
a. ADMIT patient to MAR or FP resident service (based on attached PCP; if unattached, admit to MAR)
b. If MAR is capped, admit to AMG hospitalist
3. Consults/Communications
a. Notify Ortho resident & Place consult order (consult on-call attending unless pt/family request alternate)
b. For attached patients, send perfect serve notification to PCP (or covering provider) & place consult
c. Ortho resident will contact Clinical Director of Anesthesia at 41-7775 for possible fascia iliac catheter + block
